Biography

A high class band project put together by ex-METAL CHURCH and HALL AFLAME guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof. The assembled band includes the axeman's erstwhile METAL CHURCH colleague Kirk Arrington on drums. The result was a quite superb Hard Rocking Southern flavoured album and a true lost gem. A later line-up of the band had Jeff Wade on drums. As Vanderhoof resurrected METAL CHURCH for their 'Master Peace' album Wade took over drum duties for METAL CHURCH too.

A second VANDERHOOF album was recorded in 2000 with Wade and another METAL CHURCH man bassist Brian Lake. VANDERHOOF made a return in 2002 with a fresh album 'A Blur In Time' featuring new vocalist Drew Hart, previously with TIMELESS HALL, and a re-instated Kirk Arrington on drums. However, upfront of the album release keyboard player Brian Cokeley was substituted by Jeff Powell and by August R.J. Kurtz had taken the bass position. Yet more changes found John DiBernardo, previously guitarist with JAUGERNAUT and ex-ASTRONOMY, taking the role of frontman in March of 2003.

Although Vanderhoof busied himself throughout much of 2004 with the METAL CHURCH album 'Weight Of The World' he would also fire up a Progressive Rock project entitled PRESTO BALLET. This band would comprise VANDERHOOF colleagues Damon Albright, Brian Lake and Brian Cokeley alongside former METAL CHURCH man Jeff Wade on drums. Subsequently this intended project would be issued under the existing VANDERHOOF banner.
