Biography

THE PANIC CHANNEL is a 2004 band featuring former JANE'S ADDICTION members guitarist DAVE NAVARRO, bassist Chris Chaney and drummer Stephen Perkins alongside former SKYCYCLE and MTV VJ Steve Isaacs. Other high profile credits cited by band members included a term with RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS for Navarro and tenures with PORNO FOR PYROS and METHODS OF MAYHEM for Perkins. The made marked their live debut on 21st September 2004 at the Dragonfly club in Los Angeles. In December the band set to work with producer Brian Virtue on their debut record. THE PANIC CHANNEL, working with producer Josh Abraham, cut new tracks in June 2005 but later that same month opted to re-record the song 'Half Hearted' with Howard Benson behind the desk.

THE PANIC CHANNEL, having wrapped up their debut album '(ONe)' for Capitol Records, embarked upon a three week US club tour throughout May and June 2006. A promotional video for the track 'Why Cry' was filmed in Los Angeles on June 16th. Navarro would then spend the summer raising his international profile as host of the 'Rock Star' reality TV contest locating a singer for SUPERNOVA, comprising MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer TOMMY LEE, former FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, METALLICA bassist and current ECHOBRAIN and VOIVOD member Jason Newsted on bass and onetime GUNS N' ROSES axeman GILBY CLARKE.

THE PANIC CHANNEL record sold more than 8,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position number 108 on the Billboard album chart. THE PANIC CHANNEL, inducting new bassist Siggy Sjursen of POWERMAN 5000, hooked up with SUPERNOVA for US shows in January 2007.
