Biography

A side project put together by SKID ROW's enigmatic vocalist SEBASTIAN BACH with THE BREEDERS bassist Kelley Deal, guitarist Jimmy Flemion from THE FROGS and ex-SMASHING PUMPKINS drummer Jimmy Chamberlin.

Described by Bach as ' futuristic, tripped out, space age music', THE LAST HARD MEN (whose name was suggested, rather ironically, by Kelley!)

MÖTLEY CRÜE's Tommy Lee was originally targeted to play drums, but due to existing commitments the band nabbed Chamberlin instead.

The project's album quality demos were recorded in Minneapolis, including a cover of the SCORPIONS 'Leave Me' (taken from 'The Lonesome Crow' album)

Another cover, ALICE COOPER's 'Schools Out', features in the Drew Barrymore and Courtney Cox movie 'Scream'. THE LAST HARD MEN's album was set to be issued through Kelley Deal's own Nice Records label with distribution through Sony.

Bach announced a solo tour of America during late 1997 but also declared that he would be reuniting with SKID ROW for recording of fresh tracks for a 1998 compilation album. However, this recording failed to materialise as SKID ROW became the more Alternative flavoured OZONE MONDAY.

Bach was joined on his solo trek by longtime buddy and ex-MADAM X colleague Mark 'Bam Bam' McConnell (also previously with WARP DRIVE) on drums, Jimmy Flemion on guitar and this group aired a selection of SKID ROW and THE LAST HARD MEN tunes.

Sebastian spent much of 1998 preparing a solo project, recording tracks with ex-SPIDER and FREHLEY'S COMET drummer Anton Fig and members of his touring outfit whilst negotiating with Sony for distribution on the album which he intended to release through his own Get Off My Bach label.

Sebastian also found time to appear in the action movie 'Point Doom' playing a drug dealing biker named Slim. By 2002 he had landed the lead role in the 'Jesus Christ Superstar' musical.
