Biography

As 2005 broke Tony Harnell, frontman for TNT, WESTWORLD and MORNING WOOD, announced the formation of a new band unit, STARBREAKER's very heavy musical direction being illustrated by its choice of title taken after the classic JUDAS PRIEST song. The singer's comrades in arms for this venture would be MIDNIGHT SUN and LAST TRIBE guitarist Magnus Karlsson, Italian bassist Fabrizio Grossi and the ARK, ARTENSION, RIOT and TNT credited John Macaluso on drums.

STARBREAKER's debut album would be prepared for a March 2005 release through the Italian Frontiers label and in Japan via King Records. The latter hosted an extra track in an acoustic take on 'Days Of Confusion'. Karlsson would also gain further kudos by composing material and performing guitar for the 2005 RUSSELL ALLEN / JORN LANDE album 'The Battle'. Harnell recorded a further TNT album during 2005 and also donated guest vocals to the track 'Flinch' for Christian Rock project LIBERTY N' JUSTICE.

Working with vocalist / keyboard player Mike Andersson of CLOUDSCAPE, Magnus Karlsson initiated an all star project dubbed PLANET ALLIANCE for a 2006 album. Following Harnell's departure from TNT that year, he and Karlsson would spend late 2007 penning fresh STARBREAKER tracks in Sweden.

STARBREAKER returned on 1st August 2008 with second album 'Love's Dying Wish' through Frontiers Records. Produced by Tommy Hansen, this effort marked the introduction of new bassist Jonni Lightfoot.

It was revealed in January 2009 that Tony Harnell was working up tracks for a solo album given a working title of 'En Memoria Carinosa'.
