Biography
A Florida based Gothic flavoured Progressive Metal band with a spiritual edge that has seen the SEASONS OF THE WOLF dubbed 'New Age Metal'. The group, founded in 1988 by ex-EQUINOX vocalist Wes Waddell and keyboard player Dennis Ristow, debuted with two demo tapes prior to founder member bassist Clay Yeagley was replaced by DANGEROUS CURVES female four stringer Phaedra Rubio. A six track, self titled CD would be contracted but this deal subsequently fell through. The tapes finally arrived in 1996 via the band's own Earth Mother Music imprint. In 1998 Rubio lost his position to Chris Whitford.
Momentum accelerated with the issue of the 1999 'Lost In Hell' album, after which SEASONS OF THE WOLF surfaced on tribute albums to artists such as QUEEN, IRON MAIDEN, with 'Flash Of The Blade' and BLACK SABBATH.
'Nocturnal Revelation' was delivered in 2001. The band saw some tribulation on the bass front in 2002 with the departure of Chris Whitford. Initially Bill Bois filled in for live work but by March of 2003 Jeff Beavers had secured the position. SEASONS OF THE WOLF garnered valuable exposure as their music was utilised for soundtracks on two John Bowker movies 'The Seekers' and 'Betrayal'.
Bois would be back as temporary bassist with Mark Empire then Scott Thacker on drums for work throughout 2003. In December the band stabilised part of their rhythm section by drafting Steve Satyr on bass. Wayne Hoefle would act as session drummer for the 'Orna Verum' ( Latin for "adorn the truth") album.
Mark Empire put in his swansong show with SEASONS OF THE WOLF on 27th October 2005 at The Bank in St. Petersburg.
