Biography

San Francisco's 9.0 were one of the more unique bands on the Shrapnel Records roster for one reason, specifically they were a 'real' band as opposed to the guitar heroes, solo albums and instrumental releases the specialty label was best known for. 9.0, issuing the 1990 album 'Too Far Gone', was a classic melodic Hard Rock with the vocal work of Peter Marrino, who was known for his vocal work in the band CACAPHONY and prior to that, LE MANS. Roadrunner Records licensed the album for Europe.

Drummer Ray Luzier subsequently worked DARREN HOUSEHOLDER and HOWLING IGUANAS, spoof Metal band METAL SHOP and also THE NIXONS before hooking up with the DAVID LEE ROTH band. Luzier announced in early August 2005 he was to form up a fresh band unit in collaboration with FILTER frontman Richard Patrick and the ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS pairing of guitarist Dean CeLeo and bassist Robert DeLeo.

2004 saw Peter Marrino back in the spotlight, albeit in the rather unexpected guise as the self styled "greatest Ozzy impersonator on Earth" fronting the OZZY OSBOURNE tribute band OZZY UNAUTHORISED alongside NIGHT RANGER and ex-OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist BRAD GILLIS.
