Biography

Completely instrumental Jazz Metal outing incepted by erstwhile S.A. SLAYER and WATCHTOWER guitarist Ron Jarzombek and his brother drummer Bobby, previously of RIOT. Bassist Pete Perez held down his day job in RIOT. The band was founded during 1993 by Ron Jarzombek. Upon completion of WATCHTOWER's 'Control And Resistance' tour he put out of action, having to undergo multiple hand surgeries leaving the guitarist unable to play for a few years. Upon his recovery, SPASTIC INK was duly founded. In 1994 the Jarzombek siblings and Perez recorded a ten song demo on a four track recorder. These tracks, albeit in a cleaned up version, would subsequently surface as the 1997 'Ink Complete' album on Dream Circle Music.

It would be revealed that former DEATH and SADUS bassist Steve DiGeorgio and another DEATH man Richard Christy, were in talks in regard to joining the band but this never transpired. Bobby Jarzombek joined ex-JUDAS PRIEST vocalist Rob Halford's band HALFORD in 2000. That year Ron Jarzombek's own imprint, the EclecticElectric label, re-issued 'Ink Complete' with an additional 25 minutes of work tapes as bonus material.

SPASTIC INK would reconvene during HALFORD downtime during 2001. Joining the Jarzombek's and Perez for these recordings would be HALFORD bassist Ray Riendeau, WATCHTOWER personnel Jason McMaster and Dave Keyser, ATTENTION DEFICIT bassist Michael Manring, GORDION KNOT, AGHORA and CYNIC four stringer Sean Malone and drummer Dave Penna. Keyboards would be supplied by STRATOVARIUS man Jens Johansson, Jimmy Pitts of SCHOLOMANCE and David Bagsby.

With recording sessions for the new album 'Ink Compatible' dragging on into the late Spring of 2002 it would be learned that the final track, 'A Chaotic Realization of Nothing Yet Misunderstood' had been laid down utilising drummer Jeff Eber of the band DYSRHYTHMIA. RON JARZOMBEK would also announce news of a solo album entitled 'Solitarily Speaking Of Theoretical Confinement' and a live union with covers act DRAGONFLY.

When it finally arrived the band's 2003 opus 'Ink Compatible' witnessed a whole swathe of guest appearances from the Metal world. Included would be vocal contributions from WATCHTOWER's Jason McMaster and PAIN OF SALVATION's Daniel Gildenlöw with guitar courtesty of Ron Jarzombek once more. Bass was delegated to Pete Perez, Michael Manwaring, WATCHTOWER's Doug Keyser and former HALFORD man Ray Riendeau whilst Bobby Jarzombek, David Penna and DYSRHYTHMIA's Jeff Eber took on drum duties. Keyboards were delivered by Jens Johansson of STRATOVARIUS and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN repute as well as by Jimmy Pitts of SCHOLOMANCE.

Ron Jarzombek would form up part of erstwhile MEGADETH guitarist MARTY FRIEDMAN's touring band for his 'Guitarevolution' September 2004 tour. Bobby Jarzombek enrolled into the ranks of ICED EARTH in May.

January of 2005 found Bobby Jarzombek laying down session drums for DEMONS & WIZARDS 'Touched By The Crimson king' album. By March it was revealed the drummer was working in the studio with BEYOND FEAR, the band project of ex-JUDAS PRIEST vocalist Tim 'Ripper' Owens and 13 FACES and SPAWN guitarist John Comprix. Bobby Jarzombek left this outfit to join SEBASTIAN BACH's band in May. Ron Jarzomebek activated MACHINATIONS OF DEMENTIA, a technical extreme Metal project alongside CANNIBAL CORPSE bassist Alex Webster. Initially the band included LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler but he would bow out in December 2005 due to other commitments.

In 2008 Ron Jarzombek featured on the song 'Jato Unit' on NEVERMORE guitarist JEFF LOOMIS' solo debut album 'Zero Order Phase'.
