Biography

RICHARD MARX scored his major label deal with a showcase gig. For his band at this event Marx employed veteran session guitarist BRUCE GAITSCH, the duo also penning 'Nothing To Say', Marx's top 5 US single. THE TUBES duo of vocalist FEE WAYBILL and drummer Prairie Prince contribute to the debut album. Guitars come courtesy of BRUCE GAITSCH, JOE WALSH and MICHAEL LANDAU.

'Repeat Offender' sees JOURNEY's Mike Baird on drums and Randy Jackson on bass. REO SPEEDWAGON singer Kevin Cronin, KING OF HEARTS Tommy Funderburk and BILL CHAMPLIN add backing vocals. Other contributors are guitarists BRUCE GAITSCH, TOTO man STEVE LUKATHER and Paul Parren. Waybill, Prince and Landau contribute once again. TOTO's Jeff Porcaro also aids on drums. The record garnered Marx an international fan base through hit songs 'Right Here Waiting', 'Satisfied' and 'Angela'.

'Rush Street', released in 1991, sees Marx studio compatriots including the familiar faces of Champlin, Baird, Gaitsch, Jackson, Landau, Lukather, Porcaro, Warren and Waybill. Also involved were TAMARA CHAMPLIN, BILLY JOEL, CHOPPER keyboard player Kim Bullard, MISSING PERSONS drummer Terry Bozzio, DALBELLO, VIXEN's Janet Gardner and MÖTLEY CRÜE's Tommy Lee on drums. The mournful 'Hazard' scored Marx a major global hit, with both 'Chains Around My Heart' and 'Take This Heart' also charting.

'Paid Vacation', produced by ex-CHARLIE guitarist Terry Thomas, found former PAT BENATAR drummer Myron Grombacher in the studio. Joining him was FOREIGNER bassist Felix Krish and MARILYN MARTIN. In evidence again were Champlin, Gaitsch, Porcaro and Warren. Marx even drafted in LUTHER VAN DROSS and LIONEL RICHIE.
