Peoria, Arizona's FIVESPEED, created in 1997, paid their dues on the road promoting the May 2001 EP 'First Of The Compact Cards' and independent September 2002 album 'Trade In Your Halo' with enthusiastic bouts of touring opening for the likes of BLINDSIDE, FINCH, RECOVER, JIMMY EAT WORLD, BREAKING BENJAMIN, AT THE DRIVE IN, FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES and SPARTA. The group also scored a placing on the 2002 'Vans Warped' dates. A further release found the band collaborating with BEFORE BRAILLE and ANDHERSON on the Sunset Alliance 'Triplesplit Series I'. However, the membership was to prove fluid, with drummer Chad Kinney exiting to join SEVEN STOREY and subsequently REDFIELD and replacement sticksman Chad Martin opting out for BATTER THE DRAG. In September 2004 ex-STEREOTYPEGRINDER man Shane Addington was enrolled on drums.

FIVESPEED issued the 'Bella' EP through Equal Vision in 2005. Tour work in the USA witnessed Winter dates with 10 YEARS and CLASSIC CASE. Further shows saw supports to COLD in November. The band signed to Virgin Records for their January 2006 full-length opus 'Morning Over Midnight'. Tour dates in February saw FIVESPEED supporting 10 YEARS.
