Members

Biography

Renowned for having featured former KYUSS vocalist John Garcia. Initially Garcia returned to a career working at a vetinary surgery after the final collapse his previous act in 1995 but soon returned to his roots and set about establishing a fresh band unit, drafting members of WOLF guitarist Chris Hale, bassist Damon Garrison and drummer Brady Houghton. An opening demo was made up of three tracks 'Wheel Fall', 'Cactus Jumper' and 'Positiva'. With SLO BURN underway Garcia also busied himself with other endeavours including a mooted collaboration with members of Chicago's revered TROUBLE and a Desert Rock act 13.

SLO BURN would only issue a solitary EP, 'Amusing The Amazing', released by Malicious Vinyl in 1996. The band landed valuable mass exposure as invites to the BLACK SABBATH led 'Ozzfest' tour but a further run of North American dates in alliance with MASTERS OF REALITY scheduled for August would be curtailed when their parent record label went into liquidation. SLO BURN folded in September of 1997. John Garcia was found fronting KARMA TO BURN later that year although his employment with the West Virginians lasted a mere twelve gigs. The singer came back to prominenve with UNIDA.

The SLO BURN 1996 demos would turn up on the KYUSS 'Black Jeweler' bootleg. In 2004 ex-SLO BURN bassist Damon Garrison, switching to the guitar/vocals role, founded VEGA. Joining Garrison in this new venture would be Ryon on lead guitar, Jamie of THE HELLIONS on bass guitar and the EXCEL, THE DWARVES and MY HEAD credited Gregor Saenz on drums.
