Florida's PAINGOD was previously entitled RAPED APE. Billed as PAINGOD the band scored inclusion of a track on the Metal Blade 'Metal Massacre 12' compilation. A deal with German label Century Media for a 1997 eponymous debut. Drummer J.C. Dwyer later relocated to Philadelphia and became frontman for Pittsburgh's SOULBENT. He would man the drums once again in 2003 for Hardcore band GONEMAD's debut record and in early 2004 acted as stand in drummer for PRO-PAIN's European tour.

Guitarist John Paul Soars, citing credits with CREATURE, performed on MALEVOLENT CREATION's 1997 'In Cold Blood' album. He would subsequently journey through DIVINE EMPIRE, BURNER - along with fellow PAINGOD guitarist Mike Pucciarelli, SOLSTICE and WYNJARA.

J.C. Dywer joined traditional Heavy Metal band ICARUS WITCH in 2004.
