New York Garage-Punk act founded in 1994, debuting that year with the 'Bitch' single. Brijitte West has also been credited with membership of SAN DUSKY and, as 'Vampire Girl', New Orleans Surf Rockers FAMOUS MONSTERS. The band struggled to maintain a stable line up for many years until the introduction of bassist Danny Nordahl, previously a member of STIV BATORS band, ANGELS IN VAIN and the THE THROBS. Relocating to England for a six month stint in mid 1995 the band also picked up drummer Pete Lloyd. Upon return to America, with Lloyd in tow, NY LOOSE cut the 'Loosen Up' EP for Flipside Records.

NY LOOSE scored major exposure when their track 'Spit' from the album 'The Year Of The Rat' was chosen for inclusion on 'The Crow' movie soundtrack. Erstwhile CIRCUS OF POWER guitarist Gary Sunshine featured on the album but would depart prior to completion of the sessions, being replaced by Marc Diamond.Nationwide touring to push the record included a run of support dates to MARILYN MANSON.

Guitarist Marc Diamond and bassist Danny Nordahl also operate MȪTOCHRIST whilst Diamond is also active with the DWARVES. West and drummer Pete Lloyd subsequently forged FUTURE TRUCKER but by 1999 West, alongside ex-N0. 9 bassist Kenny Kweens, playing guitar, and guitarist Tracy Swider had founded DIAMOND STAR HALO.
