Biography

Blues based 'supergroup' put together by keyboard player Mark Mangold following the demise of his previous outfit DRIVE, SHE SAID.

Mangold had met former TYKETTO / WAYSTED vocalist Danny Vaughn when the singer had visited his studio to work on a benefit album for a South Dakota based Sioux Indian tribe. As a direct result Vaughn heard the Blues project Mangold had begun working on with guitarist Al Pitrelli (ALICE COOPER, WIDOWMAKER, ASIA, SAVATAGE, MEGADETH), bassist Mitch DeStefano and former SARAYA / DRIVE, SHE SAID drummer Chuck Bonfante. Vaughn became interested in singing on the demos, whilst Mangold quickly became a fan of his voice.

Vaughn's singing on the ensuing 'Blues For Daze' album - released by the British independent Now And Then - is nothing at all like his work in TYKETTO. Vaughn sings in a lower register for the most part and, on the title track, is acknowledged to sound akin to a 69 year old wino!

Whilst FLESH AND BLOOD were looking to tour, with British dates a possiblity given the links - by the time the album was released Vaughn was reported to have settled his differences with his former colleagues and had rejoined the TYKETTO ranks.

FLESH AND BLOOD's legacy appears to be confusing this sole release. To say that many of the songs on the album are close cousins of works by THE BLACK CROWES would be generous.
