Grind merchants EXIT 13, based out of Millersville, Pennsylvania, are the result of an extracurricular project assembled by Relapse Records boss Bill Yurkiewicz on vocals, guitarist Steve O'Donnel, and the esteemed ANTHRAX, S.O.D., NUCLEAR ASSAULT and BRUTAL TRUTH credited Dan Lilker on bass together with his former band mate drummer Scott Lewis.

Initially EXIT 13's first product, a brace of 1989 demo cassettes entitled 'Disemboweling Party' and November's 'Eat More Crust', featured a recording membership of Yurkiewicz, O'Donnel, bassist Joel Dipietro with drum duties shared between Bill Shaeffer and Pat McCahan. Follow up Eps included 'The Unrequited Love For Chicken Soup' in 1990 and 'Spare The Wrench, Surrender The Earth' in 1991.

EXIT 13 adopted a revised line-up, inducting the rhythm section of bassist Dan Lilker and drummer Scott Lewis, for 1993's 'Green Is Good'. A 1995 EP, '...Just A Few More Hits', sported cover artwork spoofing VENOM's classic 'Black Metal' album cover. The band's 1996 split EP shared with MULTIPLEX included a cover version of TERRORIZER's 'Storm Of Stress'. A former EXIT 13 drummer Dave Witte was to create DISCORDANCE AXIS and ATOMSMASHER.
