Biography

Outfit assembled following guitarist Logan Madar's high profile ousting from MACHINE HEAD. After Mader's temporary stint as live guitarist for SOULFLY he formed an alliance with ex-THORN, CRISIS and SOULFLY drummer Roy Mayorga, ex-OZZY OSBOURNE and SUICIDAL TENDENCIES bassist Robert Trujillo and former UGLY KID JOE and LIFE OF AGONY singer Whitfield Crane. This new band was titled PALE DEMONS.

The band had evolved into MEDICATION by mid 2000 as Trujillo and Mayorga opted out to join the OZZY OSBOURNE band. Mayorga's stay lasted a mere three weeks before he made his return. In 2001 Mayorga, Trujillo and Mader all guested on the debut INSOLENCE album. By December the MEDICATION line up was now citing Crane, Mader, Mayorga, ADAYINTHELIFE guitarist Blunt and former PIECE DOGS and SKREW bassist Kyle Sanders and had announced a deal with the Spanish Locomotive Music.

Mayorga would be back in the news, announced as having rejoined SOULFLY. He would however for the time being maintain his MEDICATION post and find time to act as producer for Los Angeles act TWO HIT CREEPER's debut. By February 2002 it would be announced that Mayorga had opted to pusue SOULFLY full time thus ending his association with MEDICATION, who finally got their debut album 'Prince Valium' out in the summer. Drums on the record were handled by the esteemed figure of Josh Freece of A PERFECT CIRCLE, GUNS N' ROSES and the VANDALS.

Touring in North America found MEDICATION as part of the 'Dark Days' dates commencing at the Anaheim House Of Blues on 12th June billed alongside AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE and COAL CHAMBER. For live work the band pulled in Jason Loree to take command of the drum role and later drafted the services of former DOWNSET, CROWBAR and DEADBOLT drummer Chris Hamilton for European shows. Blunt also found some downtime to deputise on bass for the North Carolina female Metal band MIMIC.

MEDICATION announced an extensive European tour throughout February and March of 2003 with support from Finland's BEFORE THE DAWN. However, these shows would all be pulled just days before kick off. Former MEDICATION drummer Aaron Rossi united with ANKLA in January 2003, ironically filling a vacancy left by Roy Mayorga. In mid February MEDICATION announced they were no more. That same month ex-bassist Robert Trujillo joined METALLICA.

The former MEDICATION rhythm section of bassist Kyle Sanders and drummer Chris Hamilton forged FIX 8 in league with VISION OF DISORDER members Tim Williams on vocals and guitarist Mike Kennedy. This combo subsequently retitled themselves as BLOODSIMPLE. Logan Mader busied himself working with Lati Grobman on an Electronic project BLUE but by May it was revealed that a four song demo accredited to IDOL-X had been cut by Mader and Blunt.

August 2003 brought news that Vocalist Whitfield Crane had formulated a brand new studio project in alliance with former FAITH NO MORE guitarist John Hudson. Ex-guitarist Blunt would be seeking band members for a new project in early 2004. That same year Crane united with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES' Rocky George to cut a version of 'Master Of Puppets' for the METALLICA 'Metallic Assault' tribute album through Big Deal Records.

Whitfield Crane returned in early 2006 fronting ANOTHER ANIMAL, this project a collaboration with Shannon's fellow GODSMACK members guitarist Tony Rombola, bass player Robbie Merrill and drummer Shannon Larkin. Ex-drummer Chris Hamilton was also back in the news in May, forging a new oufit billed SAINT CAINE in union with former DROPBOX members vocalist / guitarist John Kosco and guitarist Joey Wilkinson and and bassist John Eville.
