LUXX

Biography

Although making serious headway with Alternative Rock outfit LUXX vocalist Katrina Chester has made her mark on the music world by contributing backing vocals to both the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA album 'The Christmas Attic' and Oriental mantras on the track 'Spiral' from GODSMACK's 'Awake' opus. Chester, known for her extreme vocal capabilities, also portrayed JANIS JOPLIN in the Broadway stage presentation 'Love, Janis' in 2002. The male LUXX band members also held solid pedigrees. Guitarist Ian Hatton had carved out quite a reputation for himself, the Englishman citing credits with such high profile artists as THE HONEYDRIPPERS, BONHAM, PAUL RODGERS band and WEAPON OF PEACE. Bassist Benny Selzer laid claim to working alliances with GARY U.S. BONDS, ADRIAN DODZ, TENFOLD and SILENT WITNESS.

LUXX came together in 1995 originally uniting Chester, Hatton and erstwhile ULTRAVOX and BIG NOISE fellow Brit and bassist Tony Fennell. The band's 1998 eponymous debut album saw production credits going to the esteemed Ron Saint-Germain. LUXX included a cover version of MOTT THE HOOPLE's 'All The Young Dudes' on their 1999 album 'Hydrophonic'.
