A notorious New Jersey Noisecore band, LUDDITE CLONE issued the 2000 album 'The Arsonist And The Architect' originally released by Cyberdine 243, subsequently picked up for national distribution through Relapse. The band, founded in 1998, at this juncture comprised ex-NAVI members vocalist Andy Cummings, guitarist Andrew Shearer and bassist Kevin Hannum in union with erstwhile ANGEL OF SILENCE members Ian Berkowitz on guitar and drummer Bob Raf. 'The Arsonist And The Architect' was at Portrait Studios with producer Chris Badami. Gigs in New Jersey promoting this release had the band opening for the likes of VISION OF DISORDER, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and REACH THE SKY.

LUDDITE CLONE then shared a split CD with BURNT BY THE SUN. Tracks were produced by THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN guitarist Ben Weinman. LUDDITE CLONE were at the mercy of constant line-up changes during 2000 ploughing through a long list of second guitarists. The band eventually elected to stay as a quartet which has since split with members Andy Cummings and Kevin Hannum, together with Kevin Walsh from AS DARKNESS FALLS, forming KISS THE CYNIC.
