A vastly underrated Los Angeles Melodic Rock band championed and produced by TOTO's Jeff Porcaro, THE STRAND lasted one album before splitting. Vocalist Rick 'Moon' Calhoun was to later work with erstwhile THIN LIZZY guitarist Scott Gorham in the abortive WESTERN FRONT before teaming up with top session guitarist Michael Thompson in the MICHAEL THOMPSON BAND. Calhoun also worked on material with AOR hero Jeff Paris in a short-lived project titled MOON OVER PARIS.

It's worth noting that, in 1982, Scott Shelly and Moon Calhoun contributed to the 'Marcella' album from former session vocalist MARCY LEVY. These days the woman is better known as MARCELLA DETROIT.
