Biography

Jazz Rock supremists NIACIN are led by the esteemed figure of bassist extraordinaire BILLY SHEEHAN of MR. BIG, TALAS and DAVID LEE ROTH fame. Drummer Dennis Chambers holds high regard for his work in the Funk field with PARLIAMENT, FUNKADELIC, STEELY DAN and CHICK COREA amongst others. The American Stretch release of the NIACIN debut would differ from its Japanese counterpart by including the tracks 'Clean Up Crew' and 'Fudgsicle'.

1999's 'Deep' too differed across territories, the Japanese Videoarts edition closing with 'RY-30' whilst the American Magna Carta variant chose 'Blusion'. The album also included a cover version of VAN HALEN's 'Mean Streets'. Special guests on the track 'Things Ain't What They Used To Be' included erstwhile DEEP PURPLE / BLACK SABBATH vocalist extraordinaire GLENN HUGHES together with TOTO guitarist STEVE LUKATHER.

The 2002 album 'Time Crunch' would include cover versions of JEFF BECK's 'Blue Wind' and KING CRIMSON's 'Red'. Sheehan formed up part of STEVE VAI's band for October 'G3 '03' North American tour dates. NIACIN was re-assembled for US dates in June 2006.
