CHERIE & MARIE CURRIE

Biography

CHERIE CURRIE is ex-THE RUNAWAYS. The Currie sisters teamed up to record the Pop Metal 'Messin' With The Boys' album in 1979.

The album is notable for its cover of RUSS BALLARD's 'Since You've Been Gone' and 'I Surrender' (as popularised by RAINBOW) and FREE's 'Wishing Well'. The majority of TOTO played on much of the material. In fact, Marie Currie later married TOTO guitarist STEVE LUKATHER although the couple have long since been divorced.

Cherie Currie had a stab at acting appearing alongside Jodie Foster in the 1980 teen flick 'Foxes'. During 1998 Renaissance Records re-released the 'Messin' With The Boys' album on CD for the first time, adding seven previously unreleased bonus tracks. The new material included a version of THE RUNAWAYS' classic 'Cherry Bomb'. The album also boasted new cover art.
