Biography

Seventies flavoured Hard Rock from a set of industry veterans. A Long Island based concern, THE LIZARDS first formation would be fronted by John Gardner of SIR LORD BALTIMORE repute. On drums would be the stoic figure of RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH, RONDINELLI, QUIET RIOT and BLUE ÖYSTER CULT man Bobby Rondinelli. The band toured North America during 2003 alongside another veteran figure, FRANK MARINO. THE LIZARDS band's second album, 'Rule' issued in February 2004, closed out with a cover of SIR LORD BALTIMORE's 'Kingdom Come'.

UK touring in the UK during July 2004, partnering with VANILLA FUDGE, put the band in the news when none other than ROBERT PLANT of LED ZEPPELIN guested on Blues classic 'Parchment Farm' at a show in the famous singer's home town of Stourbridge.

THE LIZARDS, newly joined by ex-RIOT singer Mike Demeo for the album 'Cold Blooded Kings', joined forces with TRAVERS & APPICE for European dates in October. The band partnered with GLENN HUGHES for February 2005 UK shows, then IAN HUNTER BAND for Scandinavian gigs and UFO for a further European round in May. THE LIZARDS hooked up again with UFO for US shows throughout July. Gigs in late October on the East Coast saw supports to KING'S X.

US roadwork in May 2006 witnessed supports to German guitar guru ULI JON ROTH and dates opening for TEN YEARS AFTER. New album recordings wrapped up in July, titled 'Against All Odds', featured former DEEP PURPLE and BLACK SABBATH singer GLENN HUGHES as special guest.

In early 2007 THE LIZARDs announced they were to record an album of cover versions, revealing tracks originally by BAD COMPANY, URIAH HEEP and HUMBLE PIE were set for inclusion.
