During 1987 MISFITS men guitarist Doyle and bassist Jerry Only created KRYST THE CONQUEROR, Only went under the pseudonym of Mo The Great. Unbelievably the singer 'Kryst The Conqueror' is none other than PANTHER, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, KUNI and TALISMAN veteran JEFF SCOTT SOTO, his nom de guerre being adopted due to contractual ties with Malmsteen.

KRYST THE CONQUEROR pulled in drummer Dr. Chud before the trio re-founded the MISFITS. In 1989 an unofficial cassette of KRYST THE CONQUEROR songs emerged. Following the release of the 1990 'Deliver Us From Evil' EP a Christmas version was made available through Doyle's Fan club.

Soto stepped up into the big league during mid 2006 as he assumed lead singer duties for JOURNEY on July 7th in Bristow, Virginia, replacing Steve Augeri who was forced to bow out due to a "Chronic throat infection".
