ASERAPHYMN was founded in Knoxville, Tennessee during March of 2004 by DEMONICIDE and TERMINAL PLAN drummer Jeremy Gregg, fresh from touring with ORIGIN, contacted his TERMINAL PLAN band mate, guitarist Jay R. Presley, with a view to forging a new band unit. Gregg had also previously been involved with ENTER SELF and MURDER CONSTRUCT. Next to enroll would be ex-ENTER SELF guitarist Wes LcQuire, singer Derek Holman and erstwhile BESIEGED bassist Scot Dunlap. June saw the departure of LcQuire to join WERMOD and another TERMINAL PLAN veteran, Kevin Pippen, duly filled the vacancy. The band's debut live show came on 7th July 2004 at the Electric Ballroom International venue in Knoxville. However, before the month closed, Holman exited to join ELDERS OF THE APOCALYPSE. He would be superseded by ex-TERMINAL PLAN guitarist Jason Fields.

The debut album 'Blood, Bone & Hate' was recorded during Spring 2005. A limited edition concert recording followed, 'Live at the M.U.S.E.', restricted to just 100 copies.
