Biography
Solo outing from NIGHT RANGER guitarist. The 'Lone Ranger' album found heavyweight guests including SAMMY HAGAR, CARMINE APPICE, ALLAN HOLDSWORTH, JOURNEY's Steve Smith, MOTHER'S ARMY bassist Bob Daisley and NIGHTRANGER's own BRAD GILLIS. By the following year Watson, Daisley and Appice had created the Hard Rock act MOTHERS ARMY. Fronted by former DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW vocalist JOE LYNN TURNER the band has issued three commendable albums to date.
Watson furthered his solo career with the 1993 'Around The Sun' opus, STEVE WALSH of KANSAS contributing vocals to this sophomore release with Bob Daisley supplying bass once again. The album would be re-released in America during 1999 by the Cleopatra label and across the Atlantic through the Frontiers concern, the European version sporting new artwork and extra song 'When My Ship Comes In'.
Watson would be back in the news in 2003, albeit by way of another band. Credited as a guest musician on the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP album 'Arachnophobia' Watson subsequently revealed he had in fact played the bulk of the guitar on the record, including many of the solos. The guitarist also donated his talents to the AOR collaborative DEACON STREET 'II' album issued in May 2006. In July Watson announced the advent of his third solo opus, 'Now Hear This One', an online only album.
