Biography
A former member of SPIRIT and JO JO GUNNE, Jay Ferguson released a number of albums in the late 70's and early 80's, EAGLES man JOE WALSH contributed to all of Ferguson's outings.
The 1975 debut 'All Alone In The End Zone' for Asylum Records saw Ferguson and Walsh joined by drummer Joe Vitale from Walsh's band, RICK DERRINGER and CROSBY, STILLS, NASH & YOUNG. Also involved were LATIMORE guitarist Joey Murcia, bassist George Perry and drummer Stan Skipper.
For the follow up 'Thunder Island' the roll call included Ferguson, Walsh, Murcia, guitarist Bob Webb and bassists Tony Battaglia, Hog Cowart and Eddie Brown. A live opus ensued prior to 1979's 'Real Life Ain't That Way' with Ferguson, Walsh, Vitale, Battaglia, Webb, Skipper, drummer Curly Smith and bassist Scott Chambers. The album included two ROLLING STONES covers.
Ferguson switched to Capitol Records in 1980 taking Walsh, Battaglia, Webb and Smith with him for the 'Terms And Conditions' record. 1982's 'White Noise' witnessed a reunion with SPIRIT colleagues guitarist RANDY CALIFORNIA and bassist Mark Andes. Drummer Kevin Valentine was also employed.
In 1995 Ferguson wrote much of the musical score for the martial arts movie 'Double Dragon'.
