HUMAN WASTE PROJECT

Biography

A critically acclaimed 90's Metal band fronted by the charismatic Aimee Echo, HUMAN WASTE PROJECT formed in Huntingdon Beach, California in 1992 by bassist Jeff Schartoff and would-be vocalist Aimee Echo (at the time a professional body piercer) whilst en route to the 'Lollapalooza' festival in Los Angeles that year!

HUMAN WASTE PROJECT wound up playing 'Lollapalooza' themselves in 1995. The same year found Echo guesting on RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS 'One Hot Minute' album. The band was soon signed by Hollywood Records, eventually releasing their much lauded debut album 'E-Lux' in 1997. After providing strong support to TURA SATANA in Britain the group returned to maintain momentum by opening for COAL CHAMBER that same December.

Despite the group's success in Britain, HUMAN WASTE PROJECT were dropped by Hollywood during April 1998 after disappointing American sales as the group were on the verge of appearing on the second stage at the 'Ozzfest' event in Milton Keynes during June. The band hoped to work out a deal with Hollywood's British partner, Polydor, in order to continue the momentum. Nevertheless, HUMAN WASTE PROJECT played the 'Ozzfest' show but upon their return to America announced that they were to split up. Echo founded THE START.
