Biography
Led by the 80's throwback Pink Gibson GET ANIMAL emerged out of their time warp signing to heavyweight manager David Krebs. Bandleader 'Pink Gibson' is in fact ADAM BOMB an artist that issued albums in the 80's and previously been a member of formative Seattle acts TYRANT and TKO. Bomb, or to give him his real name Adam Brenner, also operated an act led by DOGS D'AMOUR bassist Steve James titled LAST BANDITS in 1991 for a one off tour.
The band debuted live in somewhat bizarre circumstances, acting as openers for Japanese 'super band' ALFEE on July 1st 1998 at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York. ALFEE had actually flown in over 10'000 fans for the occasion. In somewhat of a further mismatch GET ANIMAL toured Germany with W.A.S.P. during 1999. Later gigs in Spain were curtailed when, according to PR reports, whilst on tour in Madrid Pink's favoured 1958 vintage Les Paul Junior was attacked by a dog. The beast supposedly jumped inside of GET ANIMAL's equipment van and dragged the guitar into the street, savaging the instrument so badly it broke in half!
In the UK the first record was branded "the worst record in the history of the gramophone", possibly explaining the inclusion of the track 'Kerrang! (Box O'Shite)' on GET ANIMAL's second album 'Number 2'. This record sported an album cover featuring Verne Troyer - better known as 'Mini Me' of 'Austin Powers' movie fame. Gigs to promote 'Number 2' included a run of shows in Spain supporting DIO. More opening shows, once again in Spain, had GET ANIMAL warming up audiences for MICHAEL MONROE. Further activities saw Brenner featured as a special guest solist on the track 'Angry Angry' on ex-LED ZEPPELIN bassist JOHN PAUL JONES album 'Thunderchief'.
Following the second GET ANIMAL album Brenner, following a brief spell as live musician in MICHAEL MONROE's band, reverted back to the ADAM BOMB tag for successive works.
