Fort Lauderdale Hard Rockers STRANGE AS ANGELS, formulated during 1988, issued the demo 'Screw Top Soul'. Vocalist John Santore was an ex-member of high school band NIGHTMARE. The band first performed live at Knobby's venue in October of 1990, this instigating a rash of local gigs and the recording of the four song demo in 1991.

With the demise of STRANGE AS ANGELS bassist Jeremy Slusher later journeyed on to DEEPSET.
