Biography

When the much publicised acrimony in the ranks had finally split DOKKEN in 1989 vocalist Don Dokken went solo. The resulting album saw a reunion with bassist Peter Baltes who, having just left a fragmenting ACCEPT, had also been a colleague of Dokken's on the very first DOKKEN album 'Breaking The Chains'. Guitar duties were ably handled by former EUROPE man JOHN NORUM and erstwhile WATCHTOWER musician BILLY WHITE. Drums were supplied by Mikkey Dee, ex-of KING DIAMOND.

Following touring Baltes reformed ACCEPT, Norum carried on with his solo career and Dee joined up with MOTÖRHEAD. White issued a solo album. Eventually Dokken himself reunited the classic DOKKEN line-up for 1994's self-titled album released in Japan, followed by the 'Dysfunctional' version issued in America during 1995.

JOHN NORUM was briefly drafted in to the DOKKEN line-up in late 1997 in order to replace the (once more) departed GEORGE LYNCH. The Swede would also have a flirtation with UFO. In 2005 Don Dokken signed up for the 'Acoustic Outcasts' US tour alongside KEEL and STEELER frontman Ron Keel, XYZ's Terry Ilous and KELLY KEELING. However, he would pull out of these shows, switching his allegiance to a similar tour venture organised by VH1, a high profile bout of US touring teaming up with former RATT frontman STEPHEN PEARCY, FIREHOUSE and KIP WINGER for the 'Metal Mania: Stripped Across America' trek in late October.

Don prepared fresh solo recordings, branded as 'Solitary', throughout 2006.
