Biography

Christian AOR exponents DEGARMO & KEY were a huge draw on the Christian Rock circuit and sold quite a substantial number of records into the bargain. Both guitarist Dana Key and keyboard player Eddie DeGarmo were with THE GLOBE in the early 70's, an act that changed titles to THE CHRISTIAN BAND.

The duo drifted from grandiose keyboard driven Rock to Pop-Rock, Southern style Blues and finally straight Hard Rock with 1994's 'To Extremes'.

1984's 'Communication' featured HOT WATER and IDLE JETS drummer Greg Morrow, a man who later turned up on .38 SPECIAL's 1997 'Resolution' album and BURNIN' DAYLIGHT's self titled effort the same year. The last DEGARMO & KEY outing 'To Extremes' featured SURVIVOR vocalist Jimi Jamison on backing vocals.

Key has issued two solo albums in 1990's 'The Journey' and 1995's 'Part Of The Mystery'. DeGarmo released a solo album (featuring Key!) titled 'Feels Good To Be Forgiven'.

As a point of interest the members of current Christian Rock success story DC TALK all used to be roadies for DEGARMO & KEY. Former touring drummer Kenny Holton, also citing credits with PETRA, would join fabled Southern Rockers MOLLY HATCHET in the early 90s.
