A DOZEN FURIES

Biography

Dallas, Texas based Metal band A DOZEN FURIES, featuring ex-ETHYNOL and UNLOCO guitarist Marc Serrano, shot to prominence in 2005 by winning MTV's "Battle for Ozzfest" reality television programme to score the highly coveted tour spot on the BLACK SABBATH headlined 'Ozzfest' 2005 festivals, beating out North Carolina's CYNDER. A DOZEN FURIES dated to October 2003 and had previously released a self-produced EP 'Rip These Stars Down'. Their debut gig came as opening act on a billing comprising HIMSA, SWORN ENEMY and AS I LAY DYING, providing a kicking off point for a month long headline tour across the Midwest and East Coast.

Upon entering the "Battle for Ozzfest" event A DOZEN FURIES journeyed to Los Angeles where they beat out 800 other bands to land in the top 20. They would only be informed of their win, when TV cameras, together with OZZY OSBOURNE and wife Sharon, turned up in Dallas to hand them the prize. The band would sign to Sanctuary Records to cut a debut album entitled 'A Concept From Fire', mixed by Josh Wilbur and set for September 2005 release.

The band acted as support to GWAR's US dates commencing 7th October in Sayreville, New Jersey, also packaged with DEVILDRIVER and MENSREA. The band's relentless live campaigning continued unabated into 2006 as they forged a road union in North America throughout February with THROWDOWN, STILL REMAINS and THE RED CHORD. However, the group folded in April, drummer Mike Miller claiming they had "grown apart".
