Biography
Highly rated experimental Thrash Metal act, named after the Cambodian Buddhist Khmer temple complex, out of Corpus Christi, Texas. The band was created during the late eighties by formed by guitarists Adam Grossman and Danny Lohner. A demo, 'Demonstration Under Duress', surfaced in 1987. Signing with Metal Blade Records the debut album, the Kerry Crafton produced ' When Obscenity Becomes The Norm ... Awake!', surfaced in April 1989. Recording line-up comprised Grossman and Lohner alongside singer David Brinkman ("Dee"), bassist Mike Titsworth ("Titty") and drummer Dave Nuss ("Bambi"). Both Corpus Christi and Brinkman were out of the picture for the 1990 'Corpus Christi' follow up.
Having operating under pseudonyms for ANGKOR WAT, "Edith Bunker" and "King Bunnie" respectively, Danny Lohner and Adam Grossman went on to Industrialists SKREW upon ANGKOR WAT's demise during 1991, the latter under yet another nom de guerre of 'Opposum'. Metal Blade combined both ANGKOR WAT albums as a posthumous release in 1995.
Lohner joined NINE INCH NAILS in 1996. In 2005 Lohner formed up BLACK LIGHT BURNS with former LIMP BIZKIT guitarist Wes Borland.
