Cleveland outfit formed by ex-members of BREATHLESS and DONNIE IRIS AND THE CRUISERS. THE INNOCENT offered extremely smooth AOR layered with the synth work of a young man who would, in years to come, transform himself into the leader of the Industrial revolution as undisputed master of NINE INCH NAILS.

The band "temporarily disbanded" a year or so after the album's release, by which time only Rodney Psyka and Alan Greene were still interested in the project. The duo had planned to work on further demos with ex-BREATHLESS and DONNIE IRIS man Mark Avsec, however in the late 80's. Indeed, Mark Avsec had covered THE INNOCENT's 'Heartzone' on his second CELLARFUL OF NOISE's second album in 1988.
