Chicago Black Metal band with strong connections to SARCOPHAGUS through bassist Marcus Matthew Kolar and drummer Duane Timlin, the latter also holding credits with DIVINE EMPIRE, BROKEN HOPE and, under the pseudonym of 'Cryptic Winter' WELTMACHT. FOREST OF IMPALED, the core membership having emigrated from Poland, was founded during 1994, releasing the demo 'The Dark Wilderness' that same year. Following issue of the 1995 'Mortis Dei' EP the band signed to the Red Stream label for 1999's 'Demonvoid'. Recording line up for this outing comprised vocalist / bassist Dan Prawica, guitarists Mark Trela and Adrian Adamus with Andy Rusin on the drums.

Bassist Marcus Kolar loaned himself out to NACHTMYSTIUM on a session basis in November of 2001 to participate in that band's debut live performance. The band undertook a batch of US dates in November 2003, allied with HELL BORN and DEMONCY. FOREST OF IMPALED, once more re-constituting the 'Forward The Spears' line-up comprising Marcus Kolar on bass and vocals, Adrian Adamus and Marek Trella on guitars and Duane Timlin on drums, entered the recording studio in March 2005 to cut a new album.

In April 2005 it was reported that Adrian Adamus had united with musicians guitarist Wojtek Lisicki of Swedish bands LOST HORIZON and LUCIFERION, drummer Varyen of Poles DAMNATION, Logan Perez on lead vocals and Martin Widel on keyboards in a new extreme Metal project dubbed AGAINST THE PLAGUES.
