Biography

Offering a style of AOR very much in the manner of the keyboard dominated modern pop rock fashionable at the time BRICKLIN created a surge of interest from collectors with the emergence of their self-titled debut in 1986. Ultimately they were never quite able to break anywhere outside of their native New Jersey, despite also contributing a song to the soundtrack of hit movie 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure' in 'Walk Away'.

The band had actually evolved from THE SCHOOLBOYS; a New Jersey based quintet featuring the Bricklin brothers, Jimmy Goetz, Eddie Bader and one Omni Adams. THE SCHOOLBOYS had appeared on the 'Playboy Street Rock' compilation album as regional winners of the Playboy magazine's Music Poll Talent Search. The band contributed the track 'Mr. Mouth'.

Following the commercial failure of the album, indeed, rumours abound that BRICKLIN were dropped almost as soon as the album was released, the Bricklin brothers spent a considerable number of years out of the limelight. They re-emerged in the more organic MARTINS DAM, releasing the 'The Healing' album on the Redemption label in 1995.
