Biography

TRIBE OF JUDAH was the comeback vehicle for vocalist Gary Cherone, noted for his enormous success fronting EXTREME and disastrous term of employment with VAN HALEN for their 'Van Halen III' album. For the Boston based TRIBE OF JUDAH, Cherone pulled together a band unit which included the erstwhile EXTREME rhythm section of bassist Pat Badger and drummer Mike Mangini, the latter also having a tradition with Speed Metal merchants ANNIHILATOR. Former GODSMACK drummer Tommy Stewart enrolled for live work to promote the October 2002 debut 'Exit Elvis'.

Keyboard player Steve Ferlazzo would be loaned out to POPULATION 1, the group of ex-EXTREME guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, for Japanese dates in February of 2003. In 2005 Ferlazzo featured in the ranks of SATELLITE PARTY, the high profile act fronted up by Bettencourt, JANE'S ADDICTION singer Perry Farrell and NO DOUBT bassist Tony Kanal.

It was learned in September that Gary Cherone had forged a fresh venture, simply billed CHERONE, to release the EP 'Need I Say More'. Unveiled in April 2007 new Rock outfit HURTSMILE was notably fronted by Gary Cherone along with brother Markus Cherone, of FLESH, OK PANIC and SUPERZERO, on guitar, Joe Pessia, of DRAMAGODS, POPULATION-1 and STATE OF THE ART, on bass and drummer Dana Spellman.
