Boston based act that evolved from FATBACK and would further mutate through TARGET to the highly influential NEW ENGLAND.

Prior to FATBACK drummer Hirsh Gardner had been a member of CROSSFIRE whilst guitarist John Fannon had made his name with FLASH PUDDING / JUMPING JACK FLASH. Essentially JACK was FATBACK minus vocalist Marty Stillpass.

JACK auditioned and demoed for Atlantic Records before bassist Jeff Dinger quit. His replacement was FATBACK man Gary Shea as the band name was changed to TARGET to accommodate the personal shift. Shortly after Fannon and keyboard player Jimmy Waldo opted out to join ANNIE McCLOONE BAND previous to re-assembling as NEW ENGLAND.
