Boston Rockers with strong Pop pretensions. Founded in 1997 by erstwhile PLUSH vocalist Sarah Reitkopp HALF COCKED issued two independent albums for the Curve Of The Earth label prior to being mentored by POWERMAN 5000 vocalist Spider One for their June 2001 opus 'The Last Stars'.

The band's early outings were firmly placed in the Metal camp following on from the tradition set by the act's up to then most prominent member former MALACHITE bassist Jhen Kobran. The four stringer had bailed out of MALACHITE as they underwent a transformation into the less aggressive SWANK. Other HALF COCKED personnel were drafted from local act PLANET JUMPER.

The band emerged with the 1998 album 'Sell Out' which saw the addition of second guitarist Johnny 'Rock' Heatley, previously with 6L6. They followed this with 2000's 'Operation: Rock Star'.

Kobran and drummer Charlee Johnson, the latter switching roles to guitar, would also operate the live project band WITH STRENGTH I BURN in collusion with PONTIUS PILATE vocalist Dirk Rasmussen and FUSA MOB drummer John Allen.

With guitarist Tony O'Neil departing HALF COCKED pulled in two guitarists as replacement in the female Jamie Richter. Touring in the summer of 2000 saw HALF COCKED on the road as part of a package billing in America alongside POWERMAN 5000, STATIC X and DOPE. The band would then re-locate to Los Angeles, losing bassist Jhen Kobran and inducting new member Regina Zernay along the way. Kobran journeyed on to BRONSON and JAGGEDY ANN before joining SLUNT in 2006.

Spider One would take the band on as the first signing for his Megatronic label imprint and, with producer Ulrich Wild at the helm, no less than six 'Operation Rock Star' tracks would be re-recorded for 'The Last Stars'.

Valuable international exposure was afforded the band when their interpretation of the JOAN JETT classic 'Bad Reputation' was used for the soundtrack to the hit animated movie 'Shrek'. Ex-HALF COCKED skinsman Charlee 'X' Johnson would join DANZIG in October of 2002. By late 2004 Johnny Rock was ensconced in POWERMAN 5000.
