BLOTTED SCIENCE, originally entitled MACHINATIONS OF DEMENTIA, is a technical extreme Metal project masterminded by guitarist RON JARZOMBEK of WATCHTOWER and SPASTIC INK repute alongside CANNIBAL CORPSE bassist Alex Webster. Initially the band included LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler but he would bow out in December 2005 due to other commitments.

In January 2006 the endeavour, pulling in HATE ETERNAL's Derek Roddy on drums, took on the revised title of BLOTTED SCIENCE. The former title was utilised for their debut album, 'The Machinations Of Dementia' being recorded at Mana Recording Studios in Florida. In August the group parted ways with drummer Derek Roddy. Charlie Zeleny from BEHOLD THE ARCTOPUS took his place.

In 2008 Ron Jarzombek featured on the song 'Jato Unit' on NEVERMORE guitarist JEFF LOOMIS' solo debut album 'Zero Order Phase'.
