Biography

Although originally founded in Greencastle, PA Death Metal act ETERNAL RUIN would subsequently shift base to Baltimore, Maryland. Coming together in 2000 the inaugural line up comprised lead vocalist Brian Lawyer, guitarist John Pierce, bassist Ryan Engle and drummer Chris Park. After a swathe of gigs across the tri-state area, and as their music progressed into darker, faster realms, ETERNAL RUIN severed ties with Lawyer, replacing him with Joe Ridgely. In 2001 the band entered the recording studio to capture some of this new material on tape. Although the demo, which featured a guesting Vinnie Matthews of DYING FETUS on backing vocals, garnered healthy reviews the band dissolved.

After a hiatus of just two months ETERNAL RUIN rose once more, bringing onboard returned with a new drummer & guitarist in that of Eric Lowry and Jon Malec respectively. At this juncture the band made the move to Maryland although, after finalizing recording of the EP 'Book Of The Dead', Malec exited. Nolan Clyde entered the fold in early 2003.

The band would feature on the first Tokyo 'Deathfest' in April 2005 at the Shibuya Cyclone, joining a billing comprising GODLESS TRUTH, DISGORGE and Japanese bands VOMIT REMNANTS, DISCONFORMITY and WOUNDEEP.
