Biography

BALLISTIC, originally entitled AFTERBURN upon formation, is a 2002 created Heavy Metal band centred upon the former DEUCE, TENSION and WARDOG mentor Tom Gattis and JAG PANZER drummer Rikard Stjernquist. The group severed ties with original guitarist Peter Petev in January 2003, inducting JAG PANZER's Chris Broderick in his stead. The band's debut album witnessed the inclusion of Dave Brockie, a.k.a. Oderus Urungus of GWAR repute, with characteristic guest vocals on the track 'The Dissection'.

Unfortunately Gattis would be stricken with paralyzing headaches during the recording process and, after tests, was advised by doctors not to sing. BALLISTIC duly pulled in JAG PANZER frontman Harry 'The Tyrant' Conklin for live shows. However, in May 2004 Conklin backed out of the band and Tony Taylor, of TWISTED TOWER DIRE, ISEN TORR and OCTOBER 31, duly took on the role of frontman.

October brought about some concerning news as Tom Gattis suffered a stroke. The frontman would have the cause diagnosed to a hole between the left and right atria of his heart and duly underwent a succesful operation to remedy the problem.

Tony Taylor joined German Heavy Metal band CUSTARD in November 2006. Meantime, drummer Rikard Stjernquist announced the formation of BODY OF SCARS, a Phoenix, Arizona based Metal band featuring MOTIVE guitarist Randy Davis, bassist Clint Barker and former 40 GRIT vocalist/guitarist James Santiago.
