After a critically acclaimed but moderately selling debut album it seemed that by the summer of 2002 it was all over for the much vaunted 80s revivalists BEAUTIFUL CREATURES. At first, guitarist DJ Ashba resurfaced in September with a fresh act modestly titled simply DJ ASHBA also comprising of erstwhile AMERICAN PEARL bass player Rodney Rocha, rhythm guitarist Dave "Skeeter" Marr and ex-SINOMATIC drummer Matt Muckle. The guitarist had been asked to join up with the BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION supergroup led by MÖTLEY CRÜE personnel bassist Nikki Sixx and guitarist John Corabi plus L.A. GUNS man Tracii Guns but had declined the offer.

BEAUTIFUL CREATURES did in fact perevere but then guitarist Michael Thomas, previously with TUFF, quit in April of 2003. By May the ex-members saga had resolved itself with the band ASHBA, this act incorporating guitarists DJ Ashba and Michael Thomas with bass player John Younger and drummer Bones Elias.

DJ Ashba joined the ranks of GUNS N' ROSES on 21st March 2009.
