AMARAN'S PLIGHT, self-described as "textbook Symphonic Progressive Metal", is a project featuring vocalist D.C. COOPER, ex-ROYAL HUNT and SILENT FORCE, guitarist Gary Wehrkamp, of SHADOW GALLERY, bassist Kurt Barabas, from UNDER THE SUN, and drummer Nick D'Virgilio, of SPOCK'S BEARD. Previous to this formation, Cooper and Wehrkamp had operated under the title ALFA-DOG in union with FATES WARNING drummer Mark Zonder.

AMARAN'S PLIGHT signed a deal with ProgRock Records for a debut album, 'Voice In The Light', recorded in 2006 at Wehrkamp's New Horizon Studios for release worldwide in the late Spring 2007.
