Biography

CATASTROPHIC was the new Death Metal vehicle for former OBITUARY guitarist Trevor Peres. CATASTROPHIC debuted for Metal Blade Records with the unashamed retro-Death sounds of the March 2001 'The Cleansing' album. For these sessions Peres was joined in the studio by singer Keith DeVito, of PYREXIA, second guitarist Chris Basile, bassist Brian Hobbie with Rob Maresca on drums.

The band would figure as part of of the gargantuan European 'No Mercy' touring festival package in March and April of 2002. Also on the billing would be VADER, IMMORTAL, DESTROYER 666, HYPOCRISY, DISBELIEF, MALEVOLENT CREATION and OBSCENITY. American support dates to the mighty MANOWAR were also projected.

Bassist Brian Hobbie helped launch PSYCHOMANTHIUM in early 2004, an "old-school Speed/Thrash metal" band featuring vocalist Martin Missy from the eighties cult German band PROTECTOR and latterly Swedish act RUINS OF TIME. Also featured would be the ARKHAM 13 pairing of guitarist Derek 'Derekonomicon' Schilling and drummer Ant Ichrist. The band signed to Poland's Still Dead Productions for a debut album 'Death Attack'.

The band's next road alliance, suitably dubbed 'European Decimation', took in April 2005 gigs throughout Italy, Portugal, the UK, Holland and Germany in partnership with INCANTATION, FUNERUS, JUNGLE ROT and HEXENHAMMER. That May, Merch Mania Productions issued the EP 'Born Into Bondage'.

CATASTROPHIC contracted with Austria's Napalm Records for the January 2008 full-length album 'Pathology Of Murder'.
