Biography

2006 would see a resurrection of archive material from JOE LYNN TURNER, noted frontman for RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE, MOTHER'S ARMY and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, in a re-worked format. 1986 era tracks for a proposed follow up to Turner's 'Rescue You' solo album were re-recorded and and re-worked by SURVIVOR and PRIDE OF LIONS guitarist JIM PETERIK to be issued under the project title SUNSTORM. Produced by PINK WARD 69's bassist Dennis Ward, the songs were re-recorded by a German cast comprising PINK CREAM 69 guitarist Uwe Reitenauer, keyboard player Jochen Weyer and drummer Chris Schmidt. The Italian Frontiers label took on the album for European release in September whilst Locomotive Records handled a US license, Dark Division Records handled Russia and King Records released in Japan.

Pre-production for a second SUNSTORM album commenced in July 2008. The same team of musicians was assembled for these sessions and once again Joe Lynn Turner utilised archive previously unreleased tracks.

Turner laid down vocal tracks for a fresh SUNSTORM album, 'House Of Dreams', in January 2009. The album saw release through Frontiers in April.
