Biography

STEREOMUD, featuring erstwhile members of both CRUMBSUCKERS, LIFE OF AGONY and STUCK MOJO, came out with a band with their 2001 debut 'Perfect Self'. Originally the band went under the title AMAZING DISGRACE but a jibe from notorious M.O.D. frontman Billy Milano, claiming a rehearsal sound "like stereo mud" stuck. The group's membership straddled the two states of Georgia and New York. Their roots lay in the final days of LIFE OF AGONY's live schedule as part of the high profile 'Ozzfest' festivals, which saw former UGLY KID JOE singer Whitfield Crane fronting the band.

As Crane stepped out of the picture to join PALE DEMONS / MEDICATION, the core unit regrouped, pulling in the STILL RAIN and STUCK MOJO credited bass player Corey Lowery and singer Alan. However, rehearsals failed to gel the new team and a decision was made to form up an entirely new band. Initially FIGHT and DANZIG guitarist Mark Chaussee was involved in the formative venture but his tenure would be brief.

The settled line up comprised former BELT FED vocalist Eric Rogers and guitarist John Fattoruso being joined by bass player Corey Lowery, ex-LIFE OF AGONY guitarist Joey Z and drummer Dan Richardson, a veteran of PRO-PAIN, LIFE OF AGONY and the CRUMBSUCKERS.

STEREOMUD's initial impressions were made on the live circuit and, more prominently, as featured act on the television show 'Farmclub'. Signing to the Loud division of Columbia STEREOMUD's May 2001 debut found the group working in Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta and New York with a triumvirate of top name producers in Tom Parashar, Don Gilmore and Howie Beno. Lowery's brother, Clint Lowery of SEVENDUST, collaborated on the track 'Perfect Self'. Upon the album release STEREOMUD hooked up with ENDO, SPIKE 1000 and FLYBANGER for US dates dubbed the 'Pain & Suffering' tour.

The band folded a matter of weeks after release of a second outing 'Every Given Moment', produced by John Travis and mixed by Jack Joseph Puig, in April of 2003. Erik Rogers soon bounced back with the Atlanta, Georgia based SOUNDEVICE. Meantime, bassist Corey Lowery joined Cleveland's SW1TCHED. By March of 2004 Lowery was revealed to be engaged in an all new band project, billed as DARK BLUE, comprising Troy McLawhorn from DOUBLE DRIVE, his brother SEVENDUST guitarist Clint Lowery and SKRAPE drummer Will Hunt. Former STEREOMUD guitarist John Fattoruso was found to be writing material for a brand new project entitled FIVE YEAR STARE, a union with former OUT OF BODY drummer Chris Hermmans. Fatturoso also forged a fesh band unit in league with SCAR CULTURE bassist Frank Cannino, ex-CODED guitarist Joe Festa and drummer Glenn Moss.

Announced in early March 2007, Johnny Fattoruso was found to be part of Brooklyn, New York based BLACK WATER RISING featuring former DUST TO DUST singer/songwriter Rob Traynor and ex-BOILER ROOM drummer Mike Meselsohn.

Erik Rogers forged LOVE SAID NO with ex-STUCK MOJO drummer Frank "Bud" Fontsere in 2008. In a notable guest appearance, Corey Lowery joined LOVE SAID NO at a benefit concert in Atlanta on 22nd June to play the STEREOMUD song 'Pain'.

A re-activated STEREOMUD recorded two tracks in early 2009, 'Burn' and 'Skeletons'. The band comprised vocalist Erik Rogers, FOZZY and SICKSPEED guitarist Billy Grey, 25 TA LIFE bassist Dave Urban and former STUCK MOJO drummer Rodney Beaubouef. However, within weeks of this announcement a fresh title of DANGEROUS NEW MACHINE was adopted as Dave Urban stepped out in favour of Jake Kitchens.
