SOULS AT ZERO was founded by the erstwhile WRATHCHILD AMERICA quartet of vocalist / bassist Brad Divens and guitar pairing of Jay Abbene and Terry Carter plus drummer Shannon Larkin. The band acted as support to LIFE OF AGONY's Winter 1995 European tour dates. Subsequently SOULS AT ZERO was joined by former WARGASM and BITTER guitarist Rich Spillberg. Larkin, leaving to join UGLY KID JOE, would be replaced by Jamie Miller of MF PITBULLS.

Subsequently Shannon Larkin joined Casey Chaos' AMEN for two albums plus sessioned for rapper VANILLA ICE on the 'Hard To Swallow' album and JUDAS PRIEST guitarist GLENN TIPTON's 'Baptizm Of Fire' opus. Another notable session would be for BLACK SABBATH, playing one concert with the band on 1st July 1997 on a tour make up concert. In 2002 Larkin joined up with GODSMACK.

In late 2005 Jay Abbene united with his brother, BLACKENED SKY's Andy Abbene, and former TOXIK drummer Tad Leger to launch a brand new project entitled LUCERTOLA.
