Biography
SEVENTH KEY is ostensibly a solo outing from STREETS, KANSAS and THE SIGN bassist Billy Greer. Greer also laid down the bass on JOSHUA's 1988 album 'Intense Defence'. His former STREETS colleague Mike Slamer produced the 2000 'Seventh Key' album which includes a guest appearance from DIXIE DREGS and DEEP PURPLE guitarist STEVE MORSE, vocalist STEVE WALSH of KANSAS on keyboards, ex-KANSAS man KERRY LIVGREN, drummer Chet Wynd and backing vocals from ex-STRANGEWAYS man TERRY BROCK.
SEVENTH KEY returned with the sophomore album 'The Raging Fire' in February 2004.
On the live front the following year, the band performed at the 'United Forces Of Rock' festival, alongside LEGS DIAMOND, JOHN WETTON / GEOFFREY DOWNES, JADED HEART, CASANOVA, PUMP, BLANC FACES and PRIDE OF LIONS, in October at the Rockfabrik in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
SEVENTH KEY filmed a concert DVD at Crossover Entertainment Group, 'Live In Atlanta', for album and DVD release. For the evening Billy greer and Mike Slamer would be joined by Terry Brock on guitars and background vocals, David Manion on keyboards and drummer Pat McDonald. Guest appearances come from KANSAS violinist Robby Steinhardt and Billy Greer's brother Johnny. Three studio tracks would also be included.
Greer announced a fresh project for 2009, NATIVE WINDOW including KANSAS members Richard Williams, Phil Ehart and David Ragsdale.
