Rhode Island Death Metal band GODLESS RISING comprises erstwhile VITAL REMAINS members vocalist Jeff Gruslin, guitarist Paul Flynn and drummer Ricky Corbit alongside the DESCENT credited Rob G. on second guitar and ex-RITUAL SACRIFICE bassist Mike Lecam. First product would be the EP 'Rising Hatred', issued in January 2006 through Boston's Not Common Records.

GODLESS RISING commenced work on a debut album Moribund Cult Records, entitled 'Battle Lords', in early March 2007. US shows for the summer of 2007 were announced alongside DOWNLORD and NECRODEMON.

Album sessions in July 2008 featured a cover version of SLAYER's 'Kill again'.
