A notorious name in Death and Black Metal circles. NUNSLAUGHTER, not noted for their subtlety, date back to the late 80's with an initial incarnation of bassist Don Of The Dead, guitarist Jer The Butcher, vocalist Gregoroth and drummer Behemoth Bill. This line-up cut the opening 1987 'Ritual Of Darkness' cassette. Both Butcher and Behemoth would exit signalling a prelude to a turbulent career for the band as membership ebbed and flowed with each successive release. NUNSLAUGHTER's second demo, 1989's 'The Rotting Christ', saw the inclusion of guitarist Rick Rancid (Rick Metz) and drummer John Sicko.

1991 witnessed the departure of both Sicko and Gregoroth and the emergence of new drummer Vlad The Impaler as Don Of The Dead took over lead vocal duties for the provocativly titled demo 'Impale The Soul Of Christ On The Inverted Cross Of Death'. In 1993 the inaugural demo 'Ritual Of Darkness' was bootlegged in Brazil on a 7" single. Meantime, NUNSLAUGHTER laid down a fourth demo 'The Guts Of Christ', issued in April 1993, with predictably another skinsman Mark Perversion. 'The Guts Of Christ' was released twice, the first 300 copies in a full colour cover and a further 100 in a green design.

By 1995 NUNSLAUGHTER reconvened the original founding trio of Don, Gregoroth and Butcher. Along with drummer Jim Sadist (Jim Konya) another session 'Face Of Evil' was issued. The line-up did not stay the course though and soon new faces included bass player Chris 213 (Chris Pello) and guitarist Blood (Todd Thozeski) for a split 7" single with BLOODSTICK in 1997. This would herald a NUNSLAUGHTER tradition as further shared singles quickly surfaced shared with CRUCIFER, DECAPITATOR and female act DERKETA.

Later members include guitarist Megiddo and bassist Insidious. European touring in 2000 witnessed the temporary enlistment of SOULLESS guitarist Wayne Richards. The band signed to the German Barbarian Wrath label for the April 2001 album 'Radio Damnation', a 'live in the studio' offering. Yet another split 7" single saw the band sharing vinyl with arch Black Metal act GRAND BELIAL'S KEY for the 'Satan Is Metal's Master' release through the Danish Horror Records label. This release came in three types of coloured vinyl with 222 in 'Splatter green', 333 in gold and 444 pressings in standard black.

The band was put on hold temporarily in early 2002 as Jim Sadist undertook touring duties for 9 SHOCKS TERROR. Nevertheless, the NUNSLAUGHTER release schedule remained unaffected as the Dutch From Beyond Productions announced the release of the 'Waiting To Kill Christ' demo on CD and limited edition double gatefold vinyl. The 'Hell On Belgium' single comprised six tracks recorded at the Frontline venue in Gent, Belgium September 19th 2000.

NUNSLAUGHTER's Jim Sadist, billed as Jim Satanic, would form up part of THE SPAWN OF SATAN project band also involving SOULLESS guitarist Wayne Richards and INTEGRITY, SOULLESS and DECREPIT man Chris Dora on drums for a shared split album with BLOODSICK, another act to feature Jim. Yet another limited edition split 7" single, this time collaborating with CENTINEX, had the band offering a cover version of RUNNING WILD's 'Preacher' on the 'Hail Germania' EP. A new full-length album, 'Goat', saw issue in 2003, released in Europe by Revenge Productions and Metal War Productions in the USA.

NUNSLAUGHTER would tour Australia during August 2003, supported by Adelaide occult Death Metal band STARGAZER and REVEREND KRISS HADES. The 'Cerebus' single followed on Hells Headbanger Records, a limited pressing of 1000 pieces on clear vinyl. The same imprint entered into agreement to successively re-issue all of NUNSLAUGHTER's demos onto 7" EP format. The band then expanded its roster, inducting guitarist Deserter to record tracks for a split EP shared with NOCTURNAL put out through Polish label Agonia Productions.

That year the Swedish TPL imprint put out the 'Hate Your God' album, a collection of rehearsal tracks recorded on October 11th 2002 at Mother Mary's Vagina Rehearsal Studio. In 2004 Malaysian label Rhapsodeath Productions released a split live album with THE SPAWN OF SATAN, taped on July 19th, 2002 at The Revolution in Parma, Ohio. The 2004 EP 'The Supreme Beast', released by Ordealis Records, included a cover version of BLACK TASK's 'Kill Your Enemies'.

In 2006 the Hell's Headbangers label re-issued all the material from demos 'Ritual Of Darkness', 'The Rotting Christ', 'Impale The Soul...', 'The Guts Of Christ', 'Face Of Evil' and 'Evil Speaks' on 7" singles all pressed on various coloured vinyls and enclosed in a metal box set dubbed 'Demoslaughter'. Only 100 copies were manufactured. Hells Headbangers maintained a steady pace of collectables throughout 2006 including a series of 7" singles culled from their November 2003 Australian dates - ' Metal Assault On Adelaide', ' Metal Assault On Sydney', ' Metal Assault On Melbourne' and 'Metal Assault On Brisbane'. Soundtrack from the DVD ' Damned In Japan' also saw issue as a box set of four 7" singles.

The album ' An Evening At War' was to prove unique, as only 100 copies were pressed, ach with individual artwork hand drawn by Necrodamus. Split releases included an alliance with BRODY'S MILITIA, 'Punk As Fuck' featuring MISFITS cover versions, plus collaborations with MUTILATED MESSIAH and Ohio's DESTRUCTOR. The 'Fuck That Cunt' 7" single put out by Hungary's Terranis Productions comprised 2000 era rehearsal recordings including a version of VENOM's 'Hellchild'.

A burst of July 2007 European 'Nordic Nightmare' tour dates saw the support slot going out to Sweden's DEMONICAL and NOMINON.
